Co-Founder at DeliverySupermarket.com
October 2008DeliverySupermarket.com is a price comparison website for the delivery of parcels or larger items throughout the UK, which allows its customers to access prices from a wide range of sameday courier and express parcel/pallet operators enabling them to get access to the optimum combination of price, service and supplier brand. The site has just been completely re-modelled (2011), and relaunched to offer on a single site prices for express parcel, Buy-It-Now couriers, and price-bidding couriers, in order to enable the user to choose service specification, price point, and preferred brand. The site is aimed at both eBay users (with full integration to eBay API) and business users who wish to shop around online. DeliverySupermarket.com is not a courier business; rather its aim is to introduce good quality end-user customers to couriers with spare capacity.
-
Director at mtvan.com Ltd
October 2008mtvan.com provides courier work exchange facilities for couriers and courier companies. The membership exceeds 1000 users who have used the site in the last 12 months. Courier companies post their work, which is notified to suitable couriers. Couriers looking for a load post their journeys for controllers to see, and make offers for the posted work. The idea and the website date back nearly 10 years, but the current incarnation stems from a complete re-write during 2008/9. We were determined during the redesign to enable the Facebook generation feel completely at home on the site, with emphasis on business social networking, as well as on making sure the exchange itself was up to the demands of the industry. The site works well on the iPhone, and an App is under development. Other facilities include a courier forum, and an online invoicing/self billing feature. Plans include a courier feedback module, which is in beta (2011). We see a role for mtvan.com in connecting same-day courier companies across the UK to the fast-growing e-commerce delivery market. mtvan's technology works in all countries.
